After 18 long months of shutdown, live theatre is finally returning to NYC. Manhattan Theatre Club is thrilled to be reopening with the Broadway premiere of Ruben Santiago-Hudson’s Lackawanna Blues!

In recognition of the awesome contributions that so many New Yorkers have made to getting us all through the pandemic, we want to fill our theatre on this momentous night with the heroes who have made our reopening possible.

MTC is pleased to offer a pair of complimentary tickets to you and a guest for our very first performance on Tuesday, September 14!

Come for the love, come for the hope, come for the joy.

Join us outside of our Broadway home, the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, for live music and a ceremonial ribbon cutting, to mark the return to Broadway’s stages. Then stay for our first performance in over 18 months!

RUBEN SANTIAGO-HUDSON’S LACKAWANNA BLUES
Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson returns to MTC for the Broadway debut of his brilliant solo play celebrating the strong, big-hearted woman who raised him: Miss Rachel. In a 1950s boarding house outside Buffalo, Nanny, as she was affectionately called, opened her doors to anyone and everyone in need of kindness, hope, compassion and care. Giving a tour-de-force performance accompanied by live music written by acclaimed composer Bill Sims, Jr. and performed by Blues Hall of Fame Guitarist Junior MackSantiago-Hudson embodies more than 20 vibrant characters, creating a richly textured reminiscence that’s inspiring, uplifting and right at home on Broadway.

This invitation is non-transferable. Availability is limited and this invitation does not guarantee admission. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be emailed 24 hours before the performance.
